The International Woodcarvers Congress (IWC), held the second full week in June each year, is a week-long celebration of the woodcarving arts. Activities during Congress Week include:
Wood carving competition in over 95 separate categories with nationally known judges
Wood carving classes in air conditioned facilities that cover a variety of carving and related subjects
Unique Judges' Critique Sessions
Open to the public wood carving show in air conditioned space
Annual Awards Banquet
Annual AWC Membership meeting
Congress Week takes place at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 1212 E. Quarry Street, Maquoketa, IA . 52060.
The 56rd Congress will occur the second full week of June : 6/10/24 through 6/15/24.
Please note : "Walk-in" carving will be accepted between 10 am and 4pm Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th at the Jackson County Fairgrounds show site. Monday , June 10 from 6:00-8:00am pre-registered ONLY. Absolutely no exceptions will be allowed in at that time.

The Affiliated Wood Carvers, Ltd, is the sponsoring organization of IWC. Membership in the AWC and participation in the International Woodcarvers Congress is open to anyone interested in the art of wood carving. Annual membership includes informational newsletters (available online), reduced admission to the show during Congress Week (upon presentation of your membership card), access to the seminars and competition, and online access to the annual color pictorial Show Report. We encourage you to join AWC and promote the wood carving arts through participation in the Congress. Membership runs from January 1 through December 31 and is $25 for those living in the United States and $30 (USD) for those in all other countries. To download the membership form click HERE.
